This is the story of my wife (I'm Wayno) and sponsor, Elle Cochran, she recently received her eight year chip. She's been surfing about seven years now. We meet at Puamana Park, one of west Mauis most consistent Long-Boarding spots.Puamana is where the hang-ten shots taken last Jan.2002 .
Sobriety has given her a great job at Maui Marriott, time to become one of mauls top longboarders, and also got her a black belt in Tae Kwon Do from Cascos TKD Lahaina. She helps me teach kids and Beginners classes.
In Elles second contest Hui sponsored contest. The surf was up , and in the finals she scored the set waves Ending up first place, with a giant trophy. I told her to retire on the spot, cause ti dont get any better than that.But alas, she became a contest junkie, which has made me hang-out and surf afew heats too!
Resulting in a shelf full of dust collectors. Wish somebody would make a new little crome surfer dude, that little guy is left over from the sixties. The koa wood bowls are whats happening!
Elle rides Maui Surfboards exclusively. Her favorite stick is a nine ft. Hy-performance 2+1 swallow-tail with a concave nose, slight vee and extra tail rocker. She also enters short board divisions ,and makes finals on a seven ft. Hy-bred that allows her superior paddling and wave selection.
